Class Details
This course is appropriate for all emergency responders (Fire, Law Enforcement, and EMS) who might arrive first on the scene of a law enforcement, fire, or EMS incident. Students will be familiarized with the proper handling of the incident scene and the operation of the Coroner’s Office. Some examples of types of incidents covered will be: drug overdoses, hunting accidents, homicides, suicides, natural deaths, drownings, weather-related deaths, animal attacks, motor vehicle crashes & plane crashes. Students will view photographs of actual incident scenes. At the conclusion of this class, students will be familiar with “What to do” and “What not to do”, in regards to preservation of evidence as well as control of potential crime scenes.
NOTE:
Participants should expect to see graphic images of actual crime scenes as part of the course content. Please consider your willingness to be exposed to this content before registering for this course.
