Description:

This course is appropriate for all emergency responders (Fire, Fire Police, Law Enforcement, and EMS) who might arrive first on the scene of a law enforcement, fire, or EMS incident. Students will be familiarized with the proper handling of the incident scene and the operation of the Coroner’s Office. Some examples of types of incidents covered will be: drug overdoses, fire death scenes, homicides, suicides, natural deaths, accidental deaths, auto-erotic deaths, motor vehicle crashes & plane crashes. Students will view photographs of actual incident scenes. At the conclusion of this class, students will be familiar with “What to do” and “What not to do”, in regards to preservation of evidence as well as control of potential crime scenes.

Prerequisites:
14 years of age or older and member of a public safety agency.
Jr. Firefighters must have permission of fire chief to attend.
