Most personnel problems can be tied to Ego. As law enforcement professionals, if we can readily identify the elements of Ego in ourselves, solving problems becomes easier and more effective.  The material for this course comes from multiple books (Ego is the Enemy, Extreme Ownership, Emotional Awareness 2.0, and several more) and the instructor’s personal experiences leading and managing diverse civilian and police agencies. By suppressing his ego through humility, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness, the instructor has developed a philosophy of success that he will share with students, teaching them to have fruitful and positive law enforcement careers.

About the Instructor:

Chief Ron Camacho is an accomplished Law Enforcement Executive Professional, with 25 years’ experience, most of this time spent in supervisory and management positions. Chief Camacho has successfully trained all patrol ranks, from corporals to captains, on leadership, supervision, discipline, team building, and mentoring. He has experience working at the municipal level; he retired as the Patrol Operations Captain with the York City (PA) Police Department. Chief Camacho also worked as the Patrol Commander for the Old Dominion (VA) University Police Department. Chief Camacho spent time as an international police trainer in Afghanistan and Mexico, where he developed and taught courses for patrol officers and sergeants on command leadership, tactical operations, and active shooter mitigation. In 2019, he presented at the IACP Tech Conference on how small towns can use technology to lower crime rates. Chief Camacho is a nationally published author on leadership and tactical subjects. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, 239th session, has a Master’s of Science in Criminal Justice from Liberty University, and is currently the Chief of the Chambersburg Borough Police Department in Franklin County, Pennsylvania.
