This program is designed to give emergency medical personnel the skills and knowledge necessary to operate effectively at a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI). This program combines lecture and problem solving exercises that will enhance the student’s ability to manage, triage, treat, and transport larger numbers of patients. Topics covered are: environmental hazards, MCI plan components, response criteria, agency roles, unit and personnel responsibilities, size techniques, START theory of triage and treatment, and integrated MCI problem solving exercises
